I see what you are saying about the way the image reads with color and without. There is definitely a different sort of power in the black and white image, which might simply come from the agelessness of her eyes. In color, there is more distraction within the shades around her eyes indicating weariness. The cooler the coloring (hue wise, as this is obviously a wickedly cool picture) makes that less noticeable. I’ve looked through many of your photographs, I enjoy them tremendously. Your work is quirky, but also seems full of heart. How long have you been taking photos?

I’ve been taking photos my whole life… but I’ve been working at it in a concentrated fashion (trying to learn from each shot, and striving to get closer with each shot to what I think the image can or should be) for the last ten or fifteen years.
